Taizhou Gaogang Operation Area 4# 5# 6# Berth Renovation Main Construction Completed

      In March 2014, COECG won the bidding of Taizhou Gaogang Operation Area 4# 5# 6# berth renovation main construction project. By the end of March 2015, COECG has completed additional piecemeal works and auxiliary facilities construction works.

      Due to the owner's late start on bidding and the advanced rise of  water level of Yangtze River during the flood period in 2014, the construction work was unable to continue after completing the construction of three bent frames in upper reaches.For the same reason, the three sections in downstream were forced to take temporary reinforcement measures and the construction work will be continued until the end of flood season. In the beginning of October 2014, the project department carried out adjustments to construction personnel and concentrated efforts on construction work. It spend merely three months and a half to complete the relevant structural works of the three sections downstream and meet requirements of completion from the owner on the main project.

      To built high-quality project is the goal guiding the construction works since the start of the project. The project department has organized QC group to tackle quality problems as the most common surface cracking problem during the  construction process. They have done special study on the common problem as surface quality, which is starting from concrete materials, combining with the amount control of using fly ash and  controlling concrete slump strictly. It was satisfactorily resolved and has received unanimously favorable feedback from quality supervision station, owner and supervisor on the surface cracking problem. It also has accumulated experience for COECG on similar projects in the future.
